DAY 1 HELSINKI - KOTKA
Pick up your rental car and drive east on the King’s Road towards
Porvoo, Finland’s second oldest town. See the scarlet colored timber houses overlooking the water and visit the medieval Cathedral. Continue to Kotka and the Seurahuone Hotel for a two-night stay.
DAY 2 KOTKA
Start the day with visits to Kotka’s two churches and a boat trip to the historical island of Varisaari and
Haapasaari. Take a short drive to Loviisa and visit its fortresses, Market Square and the Ruotsinpyhtaa Iron Workshop open-air museum. Have dinner at the Degerby Gille Restaurant in one of the best preserved wooden buildings from the 17th century.
DAY 3 KOTKA - LAPEENRANTA
Leave Kotka and stop in Hamina to see the two-mile long 300-year-old fortification walls and its unique layout. Lapeenranta is rich in beauty and history and your hotel tonight is the Sokos
Lappee.
DAY 4 LAPEENRANTA - HELSINKI
On the return to Helsinki suggested stops are at the artist colony Ainola and Lake Tuusula. Reach Helsinki and return your rental car.
